Every little girl dreams of a perfect wedding, and idea of perfect varies from person to person. Here’s
how Mydah executed hers with Waleed. It was a blend of their love, aesthetics and style. The bridal look
at every event made our jaws drop, quite literally, and it might make you want to get married as soon as
possible too!
Welcome to the Wedding of Mydah and Waleed.
The glamorous couple are high school sweethearts. Like the bride said, ‘When you’ve known each other
for around 10+ years especially, there’s a certain level of comfort and understanding that you reach in
your relationship. And that allowed us to quickly take on the role of who should be in charge of what
during the wedding planning. So while I was in charge of the aesthetics, my husband was the one who
made all the phone-calls and inquiries.’
‘The Qawali Night’
The delightful Qawali mehfil by Fareed Ayaz and Abu Muhammad was captured by Iqra Shoukat. It was
the first wedding function. Mydah wore her mother’s wedding outfit and it was truly captivating. We’re
in awe of how elegant she looks! Since, it was the midst of covid, the wedding list had to be limited, so
they decided to invite their extended friends’ circle and colleagues for this event while the other two
events were more for family and close friends.

‘The Daylight Nikkah Event’
The Nikkah was breath taking, with a pastel pink colored canopy with crystal chandeliers, branches and
mirrors hanging from the top. We loved how the light played with the crystal and mirrors. It looked
whimsical – and that’s exactly the aesthetic the bride was going for. The Irani tradition was the cherry on
top of the nothing but perfect event. The bride’s dress from Zara Shahjahan gelled perfectly with the
theme making it extraordinary.

‘Gatsby Inspired Valima’
The bride wanted the 1920 (ish) look and her makeup artist, Fatima Nasir did not disappoint. It was
flawless, and how could it not be as the groom made sure that the dream Myra had of wearing
Sabyasachi on her wedding came true. The Gatsby vibe served as the magical backdrop. As the bride
said, ‘From my Sabyasachi sari, to my hair and makeup, my husband’s tuxedo, and of course the wedding
decor – we were very much on theme.’

Words From The Bride:
‘My husband and I never wanted to have a couple’s shoot. We have a very playful relationship and we
knew we couldn’t have pulled off a serious shoot. So the pictures Izzah took on the Nikkah day were
basically just us being true to ourselves.’
‘Pinterest was my most used app for the six months leading up to the wedding. I made boards for all
three of my events and shared them with my wedding planner. I also kept an open mind regarding the
aesthetics and was open to any suggestions.’
Vendor Reviews:
Photographer: Pictroizzah
My photographer, Izzah, is a powerhouse. She delivered the most magical and intimate pictures that I
will forever treasure. I never wanted a couple’s photo shoot, I wanted them to be different but I never
expected the pictures to be this enchanting.
Event Planner: Dreamscapes by Daniya
I got so lucky with my event planner! Daniya was exciting and fun to work with, and also extremely
receptive to my vision. My whimsical wedding day vision was bought to life by her.
Makeup Artist: Fatima Nasir
I chose Fatima Nasir for both my events. She was the first makeup artist I ever worked with when I
started modelling and I also consider her to be a friend and a mentor. I had always known I would want
her to do my makeup on my wedding. It was an honor to have someone like her paint you with their
artistry and perfection.
